beaches

The Ligurian beaches and the sea are very clean and well-kept and almost always awarded the blue flag for their good water quality.
Most of the beaches are (as is usual in Italy) privately run as Bagno and equipped with umbrellas and sun loungers and therefore charge an entrance fee. Usually there is also a small restaurant where you can consume smaller dishes and refreshments. In between there are often free beaches where you can just lie down in the sand or gravel.

In Imperia, both friends of sandy and pebble beaches get their money's worth. From Casa Albero drive straight down the road to Oneglia and there you will find great pebble beaches or drive 3 km further west and you have the sandy beaches of Porto Maurizio.

If you want to drive a little further, you will also find great sandy beaches about 5 km west in San Lorenzo al Mare or 5 km west in Diano Marina.

Sandy beaches in Porto Maurizio

The public and private beaches of Spaggio D'Oro Bay are located directly below the old town of Imperia Porto Maurizio and are the largest and most beautiful beaches in Imperia Porto Maurizio.
Worth mentioning are among others:

- the Bagni Spaggio D'Oro, for a fee, with a wide range of sunbeds suitable for the whole family

- the cool Surf Beach with a free sandy beach and fee-based sunbeds and surf rental

- at the end of the beach, Il Moletto, with paid sunbeds on a sandy cove and on the cliffs

Parking is available for a fee in the yacht club car park on the pier.

At the west end of Porto Maurizio in Borgo Prino there is a beach club in the Bay of Baia Salata - the Chill Beach Club, also called Baia Salata.

It is a paid beach club, with a huge range of loungers, suitable for the whole family, even with very small children, as the water is very shallow and the lido is between two stone moles and the water is therefore very visible.

Parking is free in the large car park at the end of the street.

Freier Kieselstrand in Oneglia

In Oneglia there is a public and free pebble beach below the Parco Urbanos, the city park of Oneglia.

It is a free and dogs are allowed on a leash and are allowed in the water all year round.

The pebbles are relatively pleasant, you don't need bathing shoes to get into the water. The beach is rarely crowded, even in midsummer, and with a bit of luck you can be in the front row right on the water.

Above is a small day cafe - here you can have breakfast and delicious paninis for lunch.

You can park for free in the parking lot at Parco Urbano - or at "McDonalds".

(Pebble) beaches in Oneglia

In the eastern part of Oneglia there are some beaches, both free and organized.

The most famous is the Koko Beach Club, which turns into a cool open-air party club in the evenings.

You can park for free at the stand of the Molo Lungo.
